Cavendish Nuclear, alongside Sellafield Ltd and our Joint Venture partner Balfour Beatty are proud to announce that the Silo Maintenance Facility (SMF) Project has been successful at the first Safety and Wellbeing Awards, held by the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority (NDA).
The SMF Project scooped two awards, the most ‘Outstanding Project’ and the prestigious ‘Chairman’s Award’. This highlights the exceptional work that has been delivered by the team operating in a truly collaborative environment.
The SMF project was delivered two weeks ahead of schedule in March and with zero lost time accidents. The team worked tirelessly putting in over 3 million man-hours with a peak workforce in excess of 250 people.
Fran Worthington, Sellafield Business Director for Cavendish Nuclear said;
“This is an outstanding achievement for the whole of the SMF Project team. I am immensely proud of the way the project was delivered on programme and within the sanctioned budget, but I take the greatest pleasure from the fact that we did so without hurting anyone. These awards are recognition of that fantastic achievement.”
