Success for Cavendish Nuclear with Manufacturing Contract Wins

Cavendish Nuclear is pleased to announce that it has been successful in securing a number of manufacturing contracts for Magnox Ltd.

The contracts, with a combined value of ~£9 million, includes the manufacture of furniture for the 6m3 Reinforced Concrete Box (RCB), 500 litre drums and overpacks and three variants of stillages.

The work will be delivered out of Cavendish Nuclear Manufacturing Ltd (CNML) in Chester and from facilities in Rosyth, which are part of Babcock International our parent organisation.

Phil Bailey, Programme Manager for Cavendish Nuclear Manufacturing said;

“Winning this portfolio of work further enhances our unique position in the nuclear manufacturing supply chain and cements our place as a key supplier to Magnox Ltd.”

Cavendish Nuclear produce a wide range of manufactured products, from specialist waste containers to large-scale decommissioning plant and equipment used to support the remediation of highly sensitive nuclear legacy facilities. Our capability consists of three complimentary manufacturing, assembly and testing facilities at Whetstone, Rosyth and Chester.

At Whetstone and Rosyth, we have significant manufacture, fabrication, assembly, testing and operator training experience to support programme de-risking by maximising the execution of off-site activities. Our facility at Chester fabricates and tests high integrity stainless steel drums and stillages in support of numerous plant operations and intermediate level waste (ILW) storage.

Phil Bailey added,

“We are delighted to continue to support Magnox Ltd in the delivery of manufactured waste containers and ancillary components.  Our collaborative approach to delivery is key to our success”.
