The Cavendish Dounreay Partnership (CDP) is proud of the important milestone the team at the Dounreay nuclear site has delivered in completing the transfer of around 700kg of highly enriched uranium (HEU) from the site to the United States.
Simon Bowen, Chairman of the CDP said,
“Delivery of this strategically important project in the decommissioning of the Dounreay site, is testament to the hard work of the Dounreay team and the collaborative approach taken by them, the supply chain and the other organisations involved, who have all helped make this a success”
This milestone marks the conclusion of one significant project, which is part of an ongoing programme of work to safely remove nuclear materials from the site.
The Cavendish Dounreay Partnership, is a consortium of Cavendish Nuclear, Jacobs and AECOM that owns and manages Dounreay Site Restoration Ltd under a contract with the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority.
