Representatives from Cavendish Nuclear’s Japan business presented at the 4th annual UK-Japan Nuclear Industry Forum, which took place at the British Embassy in Tokyo on Tuesday 18th February 2020.
John Hunt, Cavendish Nuclear’s International Business Director, presented alongside Wood Nuclear on the collaborative work that is being performed to develop the lifetime decommissioning plan for the Japanese fast breeder reactor Monju. Mark Rouse, President – Cavendish Nuclear Japan, was also involved in a Q&A panel session, which covered the opportunities for sharing of knowledge and expertise between the UK and Japan and also explored the requirements for moving from an operational to a decommissioning culture on nuclear sites.

Arranged by the UK Department for International Trade, and supported by both the Japan Atomic Industrial Forum and the UK Nuclear Industry Association, the event provided an opportunity for Industry and Government members of the nuclear communities from the UK and Japan to network and to present updates on decommissioning programmes. This year the theme of the event was “Creating an Environment for Collaboration.
