Five-year partnership with the Caithness Chamber of Commerce

Caithness Chamber of Commerce and Cavendish Nuclear have finalised a deal which will see Cavendish Nuclear commit to a Gold Premier Partnership of the Chamber for the next five years, cementing a relationship that stretches back to 2009, when the Chamber relaunched as a new organisation.

Cavendish Nuclear has been operating in the area for a number of years as a key supplier delivering a range of projects on the Dounreay site. Throughout this time, it has been a long-term supporter of the Chamber and the excellent work it does to support the economic growth of the North Highlands.

Cavendish Nuclear was one of the Chamber’s first Premier Partners back in those early days and has remained so ever since.  This five-year agreement represents a real commitment from Cavendish Nuclear to ensure a positive legacy for the North Highlands and also demonstrates the confidence the company has in its future.

Trudy Morris, Chief Executive of Caithness Chamber of Commerce, said:
“We are delighted that Cavendish has made the decision to commit to a five-year Premier Partnership of the Chamber. They have long been supportive of the work that the Chamber does to support and grow the economy of the area, and this commitment represents a real vote of confidence not just in the Chamber and its work but in the economic future of the North Highlands.

“Cavendish Nuclear has played a vital role in the Dounreay decommissioning for a number of years, and has already brought significant benefits to the local supply chain and to the wider economy. With this agreement, Cavendish Nuclear is making a clear statement of their intention to renew and extend its commitment to the region.

“The nuclear industry has long been a key sector for the North Highlands, and it is fantastic to see Cavendish Nuclear make such a clear commitment to the future of the industry in this area.

“We are very pleased to have this opportunity to build on our long term relationship with Cavendish Nuclear, and look forward to working with them over the coming years to bring even greater benefit to the local supply chain.”
Simon Bowen, Chief Executive of Cavendish Nuclear commented, “We are proud of the long-standing relationship we have with the Chamber of Commerce and the local Highlands and Islands area.

“We recognise the important role we play in the local area as a key supplier to the Dounreay site. This is reflected in our ongoing commitment and support to the Chamber and its mission to create a vibrant North Highland economy that is successful, sustainable and diverse.”
