STEM

As an organisation we believe that having a workforce of talented engineers and scientists is what makes us successful.

We are committed to engaging with local schools, colleges and universities; empowering young people to make that link between Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths subjects and the career options that exist.

We are recognised by STEM learning as an employer who drives the STEM agenda in the UK with many of our employees involved in a range of activities such as:

  • Careers talks for young people, parents and teachers
  • Mock interviews
  • Supporting STEM projects in class
  • Science clubs
  • Mentoring
  • Providing work experience for school age children

We encourage our employees to become real life role models by enabling them to excel in their careers and pass their knowledge on to the younger generation. By being part of the STEM initiative you will also be enhancing your own skills which in turn help us to deliver excellence to our customers.

Delivered to schools and created by Cavendish Nuclear’s Youth Voice Network, the ‘My Life as an AGR Fuel Element’ booklet aims to make learning about nuclear power fun and more accessible – whilst also promoting careers in STEM and the nuclear industry.
